Olly and his team remain in good order banging in the winners with another 6 to report on this week – A winner each day since Sunday and 2 doubles to boot.  The race to hit the magic 100 winners target is still very much on as they cruise up to 86 for the season so far.  It’s been great to see some promising young prospects breaking through the yard showing plenty of future promise in winning their bumpers and maidens/novices including – Roccovango, Barlovento, Act of Authority & Castle Ivers – Showing there is plenty of fire power to look forward to next season too.

NOEL WILLIAMS

Placed Runners:

17th March: Ebselysees 4th @ Huntingdon

Noel has had 1 runner to report on so far this week – Ebselysees who finished 4th (beaten just 5 ½ lengths) in the bumper at Huntingdon on Sunday.  This was a really encouraging racecourse debut for this Champs Elysees Filly with the 1st and 2ndplaced horses pulling clear, she stayed on well and just lost out on 3rd place in the final furlong.  Over the coming days Noel holds entries for Dairylane Daisy and Maximum Effort (for Crowd Racing) who has options at both Ascot (on Sunday) and Exeter (on Monday).  This will be his first run in a handicap since receiving an opening mark of 107.  A mark definitely gives us something to work with and Noel is excited about his future.   He is lightly raced and has showed clear signs of potential when finishing strongly in his last few starts.

DAN & CLAIRE KUBLER

Placed Runners:

19th March: Hilltop 4th @ Wolverhampton

Dan & Claire have had just 1 more runner this week to report on – Hilltop who finished 4th at Wolverhampton under Josephine Gordon, beaten just 3 ¾ lengths by the winning Favourite Lady of Spain.  As mentioned on their blog she is “a filly who is still learning to race, slow away on both her starts she needs to improve out of the gates and the aim is the get her to settle better”.  This was definitely another step in the right direction on just her 3rd start and hopefully she can continue to progress over time. Upcoming entries for the team this weekend include Salamanca Lad & Bravo Zulu and we’re looking forward to seeing Siempre Arturo (for Crowd racing out again soon who has been given a mark of 74 (a rise of 4), which you’d have to be very happy with.

Team Menzies have scored a further 2 winners in the past week – Raffles Wonder over hurdles at Hexham & Golden Rainbow over 5 furlongs on the flat at Newcastle.  They now sit on 16 flat winners (a record for the yard so far) and 29 over jumps, some really encouraging stats for this versatile team.  Tomorrow we look forward to seeing our gorgeous filly Loubiere make her return to the track at Newcastle.  10 go to post, Paul Mulrennan has been booked to ride and we have been drawn 3.  Paul rode her on her last start at Musselburgh back in August, a race she was favourite for but blew a chance of a decent run in the prelims when getting so worked up.  Hopefully the break will have done her the world of good to take in the occasion and mature a bit more and we look forward to seeing her out again.

CAMILLA POULTON

Camilla’s 1 and only entry to mention this week is our much-loved Military Decoration who lines up at Southwell this afternoon.   Jack Enright will take the ride once again in this Apprentice Handicap over 1m4f.  The clear favourite is the Tony Carroll trained Tortured Soul who has won on 5 of his last 6 starts.  Last time out winner Grigio might also be a danger and it will be interesting to see how the Olly Murphy trained For Pleasure takes the switch back to the flat, also lining up in the same race.  Over the coming days Camilla also has entries for Brazen Diamond and Touch of Thunder who heads to Ascot on Sunday.

Edward Smyth-Osbourne

Placed Runners:

14th March: Noodle Mission 3rd @ Chelmsford

Ed made a promising start to his training career with Noodle Mission (for Crowd Racing) finishing 3rd on yard debut at Chelmsford on Thursday.  All things considered he ran really well and could even be considered slightly unlucky for not finishing 2nd.  This was a career best effort for him putting up an RPR of 81 (official rating 74), you would hope he could go close again in a similar contest and the plan is to have him back out again potentially next week.  A really exciting new addition to the team.
