Olly Murphy and his team have notched up another lovely winner on the board this week in the form of Foxey who dug deep in the heavy ground at Exeter on Monday to win the Novices’ Selling Hurdle under Lewis Stones.  A third victory for the gelding this season and another one to add to the scoreboard for the yard as they edge closer to the big 100 mark – 87 not out!  A really impressive tally for Olly and his team to be striving towards their best season since starting out.  Looking ahead to this weekend Here Comes McCoy will make the trip over to Ffos Las on Sunday for the West Wales National on his hat-trick-winning bid since joining the Crowd Racing string just a few months ago.

Placed Runners:

22nd March: Dairylane Daisy 4th @ Newbury

Noel has had just a couple of runners over the past week with the most notable of which – Dairylane Daisy finishing 4th in a competitive Novices’ hurdle at Newbury on Friday.  Maximum Effort was another of his runners to report on who lined up in very testing conditions at Exeter on Monday.  Unfortunately on this occasion, the combination of the stiff track, heavy ground and strongly run race didn’t suit and in Noels’ words in his post-race video  - he looks none the worse for it, so we might just have to draw a line through that run and take something if we can.  Onwards and upwards!  Looking ahead over the weekend Noel runs Sister Agatha at Haydock on Saturday and Briery Bee at Fakenham on Monday. 

DAN & CLAIRE KUBLER

Dan & Claire have had no runners since the last report – Hilltop who finished 4th at Wolverhampton on 19th March.  Next up they are set to run Siempre Arturo (for Crowd Racing) at Lingfield tomorrow afternoon.  This looks like a great opportunity for him and a really nice pot for the winner - over £23k in total.  Brandon Wilkie a top apprentice has been booked to ride and claims a valuable 3lbs.  Siempre is drawn 6 out of 16 runners in total and while it’s a competitive contest he goes there with every chance.

Rebecca Menzies and her team continue to bring in some brilliant results over the past week with 6 more runners finishing in the placing’s (out of 13 runners) and another lovely winner to boot.  It was great to see Raffterty’s Return score again over hurdles at Newcastle where he made all to win by 3 ½ lengths under a brilliant ride by Brian Hughes.  Another highlight this week was seeing our gorgeous chestnut filly Loubiere, trained by Team Menzies, come back with a bang to run so well last Friday at Newcastle after a 206 day lay off.  An impressive training performance to have her back in such good order and we look forward to seeing her back out again at Redcar on Monday.

21st March: Military Decoration @ Southwell (FOR CROWD RACING)

Camilla and her team have enjoyed another lovely winner this week with our very own Military Decoration who put in a gutsy performance to win the Apprentice Jockey’s Handicap over 1m4f at Southwell on Thursday under Jack Enright.  A much deserved success for The Poulton Team who work so hard behind the scenes to ensure that each horse in their care is spot on for the big day.  He has come out of the race well and although it may be tempting to run him again soon as Camilla rightly says “we have learned over the years that DEC needs a gap between his runs, and despite him being able to run quickly without a penalty due to it being an apprentice race, it would be foolish to rush him to his next run.”  

EDWARD SMYTH-OSBOURNE

Ed and his new team have had no other runners this week as he starts to embark on the early stages as a fully-fledged racehorse trainer.  Noodle Mission (for Crowd Racing) looks to be his next runner this Saturday at Wolverhampton where hopefully he can back up his promising debut for the yard just a few weeks ago.   Last seen at Chelmsford when finishing a close 3rd in an Amateur Jockey’s handicap over 7 furlongs, some of his best form (for previous connections) is at Wolverhampton so hopefully he can put it all together a be in the mix again this weekend.
