GOLD & GREEN

MARCH NEWS

March 14th, 2024.

As expected, we are witnessing some top class racing at Cheltenham with some classy, expensive horses from the top yards, dominating but with some timely reminders of just how tough this sport is even for those with every advantage available.

WILLIE MULLINS is carrying all before him, but still sees superstar EL FABIOLO make a blunder and get pulled up at odds of 2/5 and the Nicky Henderson team who aim all year for this week, are peppered with non-runners and poor performances as something rips through the yard, at the worst possible time.

Getting winners is tough, even at lower grades. The races are ultra competitive and getting a horse there in prime condition and in the right race is a mission.

Even after 30+ plus winners in Gold and Green colours, the feeling of elation and satisfaction never gets diluted, and you are always looking for the next one.

Since the start of December, we have had 13 runners, and 4 of them have WON, with a further 3 placed, the other 6 all ran with credit and we are very happy with the string we currently have and how they are performing. We have had a quiet period, winner wise prior to this purple period, but the signs for this run to continue and be built upon are there for all to see.

It wouldn't be our style to be content with what we have, and we have added a further two horses to the string in the past week or so.

NOODLE MISSION has joined, and is trained by EDWARD SMYTH-OSBOURNE, and will be his first ever runner when he goes to Chelmsford tomorrow night. Ed trains in Lambourn has a great pedigree and it is thrilling to be working with him from his very first runner.

Purchased in October, NOODLE looks fantastic and is nicely handicapped. He will be a fun horse to follow, and will hopefully progress and win races.

We are have also added a stunning new 2yr old filly, who is in the care of Dan & Claire Kubler. Leased in partnership with the Newmarket stud of the Swinburn family, the filly is a half-sister to the top class Percys Lad who the Kublers have had great success with, and it is a privilege to have the opportunity to be part of this journey. We have offered a pre-sale to existing share holders of our other horses and seen a strong uptake in shares, and the remainder will be available soon.

There are currently a round dozen in the string;

ACED IT and THREE PLATOON are on track with their recuperation, and both are doing well.

LOUBIERE, INDICATION ROCKET and WONDER KING are all back in work following breaks, and MILITRY DECORATION, TOUCH OF THUNDER, MAXIMUM EFFORT, HERE COMES MCCOY, NOODLE MISSION and SIEMPRE ARTURO are all in active campaigns

Of course, all the horses can be followed with Gold and Green Crowd membership and membership is tremendous good value but we also have a lot of great options for anyone who wishes to get involved at a deeper level. A selection of current opportunities can be found below. and if you have any questions, please let me know.

SIEMPRE ARTURO is improving and now has 2 wins and a second place finish from just 4 starts. He is still a tad green and is learning all the time and will be better over a little further. His has exciting targets at Bath (20k race) and Lingfield (40k race) before a summer turf campaign which will have a number of fascinating options.

We lease SIEMPRE ARTURO from his breeder, so there is no purchase element to the shares, just the on-going fees which leaves him a a great value option. Unsurprisingly, we don't have many shares left, but you can use the button below to purchase 1% for just £252.

This includes all costs until October 2024 and shareholders are entitled to their share of prize-money and priority with badge requests for the races.

There are a small amount of larger shares available, and drop me an email if you would like more details.

HERE COMES MCCOY has now won his last two races, pretty comfortably and we are confident he can go forward again. He is now rated 125 over fences and would have still won last time out, even with the extra weight given. He did win over hurdles off a mark of 123, and Olly has the option to take weight off with a number of quality conditionals attached the yard.

MCCOY isn't far off competing in some valuable contests in the next jumps season, and can still win races there. A fantastic opportunity to get involved with a horse in the OLLY MURPHY yard, and with all costs covered until MAY 2025, 1% costs £400. Click below to get involved, or drop an email for more information on different share sizes.

MAXIMUM EFFORT makes his handicap debut at FFOS LAS on Friday, and Noel is delighted with him. he does face a Skelton horse looking for a 6 timer, after being given a absurd handicap mark, but we go there with a chance and he will progress from there anyhow and certainly win races from his mark.

We have a raffle running, with only a few tickets left, for 10 lucky winners to become 1% shareholders in MAXIMUM EFFORT.

With only 100 tickets issued, that is a 1 in 10 chance of winning a share, BUT nobody will lose.... All tickets will receive a share in MAXIMUM EFFORT worth the £25 ticket price. Click below to grab your ticket before they are all gone.

With TWELVE HORSES and 6 stables on board, there is never a run far away, and with NOODLE MISSION and MAXIMUM EFFORT running this week, and DEC, LOUBIERE, INDICATION ROCKET, TOUCH OF THUNDER and SIEMPRE ARTURO due out before the end of the month, it will be a busy 2nd half of March.

Noel, Dan & Claire, Olly and Rebecca have all been amongst the winners, and optimism is high that we can have at least two more winners this month.

As always, any questions, please let me know, and if you have a lapsed membership, get in touch, there has never been a better time to be in The Gold and Green Crowd.
